Gas supply Spinning disk changed again

We have issues with the CO2 dispense system from CellVivo again. Currently an old TOKAI hit CO2 supply runs on the Evident Spin SR10 system. Turn on by the “on” button and make sure the gas supply valve is open as normally. The system is hard set to mix 5% CO2 with ambient air, check…

New confocal microscope will be coming to the CCI

We are pleased to announce the purchase of a new confocal scanning microscope. The plan is that the machine will be able to take over part of the workload on the busy Evident Spinning disk. We chose to get functionality on the system to flexibly automate imaging, with a focus on being able to do…

Rushing the shut down procedure can cause errors on Spin SR

We regularly get a calibration error form the Marzhauser stage when running the Spin SR10 system. We tried to tackle this problem in many ways and did solve it yet. Please be sure to notify us when you encounter the issue. One cause could be that users shut down the system too fast (when settings…

DEMO Microscopes from 17th-22nd of May

We are testing different microscopes to replace the Leica SPE2 “workhorse” that is having frequent technical failures and is heavily overbooked nowadays. Our aim is to increase the imaging capacity at the CCI by improving the workflow to do your imaging. We sent a mail with a request to give us samples you would like…

Leica SPE2 40x HCX oil objective defect

The 40x oil on the Leica SPE-II CLSM showed severe chromatic aberration in Z for UV fluorescence. The objective is removed from the system and its aberration is being validated on another Leica machine in the UU campus. We probably need to repair or replace it. Our objectives are very costly and vulnerable, please handle…
