New gastank storage in the corridor

The storage for gas tanks (CO2, N2) in the CCI corridor has been replaced and moved to make space for the flow cabinet that will be positionned in the recess behind it. Beware that the corridor has become more shallow because of the move.

ImageJ beginners course

Bioimaging Utrecht again arranges the ImageJ beginners course on October 13, 2015. The flyer can be downloaded here, as well as the registration form. It is a highly recommended way to get introduced into the ImageJ/FIJI image analysis by image processing experts.

DATA storage testing

Matlab campus licence is available now

Matlab is now available as a campus licence. We installed the newest version of Matlab on our windows workstations (the NIS workstation, the Imaris Workstation and Richard’s PC). The IT department will inform you how to install MATLAB on your computer via its licence manager.

Zeiss LSM880 NLO multiphoton microscope installed

The Zeiss LSM880 NLO has been installed. We will be instructed to use it in the coming week and the machine performance will be evaluated afterwards. Move of Richard’s office space and the Imaris workstation to W145

We are happy that we can expand our office space to W145 in the Androclus building, although it is a bit distant from the CCI microscopy rooms. Onno van der Veen from Multimedia allowed to use one of his spaces to use for image analysis and CCI staff office work, thanks very much for this offer….

OMX install in progress

The OMXv4 system is being installed this and next week. The 1st crates have been unpacked and we wait for the  last crate that seems to be lost in transport from Göteborg to Utrecht. GE Healthcare service engineers will be around this week to setup and validate the imaging system.

The Leica SPE2 has been moved to the wetlab

We have setup the SPE2 confocal to room O.101 as was announced before. The system is functional again and the PC software has been updated. We will evaluate whether it has solved the many problems we face lately with the performance of the system.
